Sometimes life does not go the way we expected. Plans change, challenges appear and some days may feel more difficult than others.
During these moments, gentle movement can help us reconnect with our bodies, improve our mood and bring a little more joy into the day.
You do not need special equipment or a complicated exercise routine. A simple homemade ball and a little imagination can create an enjoyable activity for both the body and the mind. Make your own soft ball Roll together a few clean socks or pieces of soft cloth to create a light ball that is easy to hold.
You can practise alone or invite someone to join you. The most important thing is to feel comfortable, have fun and stay engaged.
Let’s play and move
Hold or pass the ball while exploring different movements:
• Move the ball across your body from one side to the other.
• Take the ball up above your head and then slowly bring it down.
• Move it diagonally, from high on one side to low on the other.
• Circle the ball around your body, as comfortably as possible.
• Pause and stop the ball when your partner gives you a signal. These movements can help with coordination, attention, mobility and awareness of both sides of the body. Keep your arms and hands moving After the ball activity, gently rotate your arms outwards and inwards.
Move your wrists slowly up and down, then circle them in both directions.
Keep your movements comfortable and controlled. There is no need to rush. Add a voice challenge While moving or passing the ball, say out loud:
Three different fruits
Then say:
Four different sweets
Speak slowly and clearly, making each word as expressive as possible.
This activity combines movement, memory, concentration and speech while keeping the experience playful.
Remember that every movement counts. Smile, laugh, enjoy the company and celebrate what your body can do today. Enjoy little things.
